April Hughey, “a songwriter’s friend” takes songs written from the heart and soul, and uses her powerhouse vocals to bring to life the words of a song. Her goal is for the music to minister through healing and joy, and transforming love of Christ." April is originally from Washington State, and like many of us, did not grow up in a Christian home. In fact, April has said, “Childhood was not easy, but I always knew there was something more, something missing.” For that reason, April; at the age of 16, began her search for Jesus. April has shared many times, “Going to church is easy, giving up self – that is another story!”

It was not until November 2003 that she realized what it truly meant (and means) to give up self and allow Jesus to become Lord and Master of her life. After this life-changing experience, she noticed there is a big difference between “having religion” and a “personal relationship” with Jesus. April says,

“I used to take part in the ‘I’m a Christian’ game for many years, but quite frankly I just couldn’t live with that anymore. So many times, I could hear Him whisper, “April, I love you, I really love you! One day I finally believed what He was saying; it was in that moment I fell to my knees and said, “Ok, Lord, I need your help; I can’t do this by myself anymore!”

“I’m still amazed that He chooses me to be part of His family. I sometimes ask Him, why me, what did I do to deserve your love? I then hear Him say, it’s not what you did, it’s what I did! When I think back at how He has been faithful, I am at peace, and that peace seems to satisfy the part of me that doesn’t have all the answers.”

Those who’ve known April over these last several years have seen her servant’s heart and watched her ministry grow into one that is focused on spreading the message of Christ’s amazing love that accepts each person as they are. Through song, she shares a message of HOPE and RESTORATION through God’s love.
